Privacy Policy

PlantDrop · Last updated:

This Privacy Policy describes how PlantDrop (“the App”) handles information when you use our iPhone and Apple Watch application. We design the App to keep your hydration data on your devices and under your control, with optional features that rely on Apple’s services when you choose to enable them.

By using PlantDrop, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Summary

Information the App processes

Depending on how you use PlantDrop, the App may process categories such as:

Local storage and App Group

PlantDrop stores your logs and settings primarily on your device. To support features such as home screen widgets, Live Activities, Siri shortcuts, and the Apple Watch companion, the App may share a limited set of values (for example today’s total intake or goal progress) through Apple’s App Group container shared only among our app, its extensions, and the Watch app. This data stays within Apple’s sandbox on your devices and is not transmitted to our servers by default.

Apple Health (optional)

If you enable Apple Health integration (a PlantDrop Pro feature where available), the App may read and write water intake data in HealthKit so your hydration logs can appear in the Health app and stay in sync with your choices. Health data is governed by Apple’s Health app privacy controls. You can revoke access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health on your iPhone.

iCloud sync (optional)

If you enable iCloud sync, your app data may be stored in iCloud and synchronized across your devices signed into the same Apple ID, using Apple’s CloudKit/SwiftData infrastructure. In that case, processing is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy. You can manage iCloud in your device settings. Disabling sync may leave data only on the current device according to how the App handles your choice.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. We do not need your phone number or email for this. You can turn reminders off in PlantDrop settings or in iOS Settings for the App.

Widgets, Live Activities, and Apple Watch

Widgets, Live Activities, and the Watch app display information you have already stored or shared via App Group so you can see progress at a glance. They run on Apple’s platforms and follow your device privacy settings.

Subscriptions and purchases

PlantDrop Pro subscriptions and any non-consumable purchases are processed through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple provides us with transaction identifiers and entitlement status, not your full payment details. For payment-related questions, see Apple’s documentation and your Apple ID purchase history.

Tracking and analytics

PlantDrop is not configured to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising. We do not integrate third-party ad networks in the App for that purpose.

Retention

Data remains on your devices (and in your iCloud account if you enabled sync) until you delete it in the App, remove the App, or erase your device, subject to Apple’s own backup and sync behavior.

Children

PlantDrop is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we should remove information, contact us using the email below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy, except where a stricter consent is required by law.
